Let us welcome you 'Inn'
Each season brings its own virtues and that is especially true of the Lairhillock menu which changes every three months to include the best seasonal Scottish produce. This constantly changing menu and daily specials board are the reasons why so many diners return to us over and over again. Food will never become tedious with dishes such as Game and Stornoway Black Pudding Terrine and Our Very Own Peat Smoked Salmon on the menu. And it isn’t only salmon, we also smoke our own fish, chicken and duck on the premises.
Our Chef is a stickler for making the best use of the best of the North-East and sources his ingredients from local growers as much as is possible.
However, it’s not just our good fresh food and eclectic menu (not here the inevitable scampi with chips, haddock with chips ... chips with chips!) which sets us apart. At the Lairhillock you never have to worry about parking, you escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and you find yourself in rural surroundings with the only possible aggravation a hobo heifer or truculent tractor. Our sharply priced menu and friendly, efficient service complete the perfect lunch or dinner experience.
Lunching at Lairies
“And even now, at twenty-five,
He has to work to keep alive.
Yes! All day long from 10 till 4!
For half the year or even more,
With but an hour or two to spend
At luncheon with a city friend.”
Oh, to enjoy the lifestyle of Peter Goole, the subject of Hilaire Belloc’s 1930’s poem. Lavish lunches every day of the week with little thought of daily toil and no doubt independent means to carry it off. Few of us have the time, the means or the constitution for such indulgences but we all need lunch.
Our impressive team appreciates that different diners expect different things - from lunch especially - and they tune in quickly to what that is. It is in this sense only that you will ever find fast food here at the Lairhillock.
Don’t you want to put down that styrofoam cup and come see us right now?
