Be bold at The Crynoch
One of the foremost food writers in the world, Margaret Fulton, once said that a first class head waiter combines the qualities of an actor, a diplomat and a helpful nanny!
All attributes which would come in handy in The Crynoch from time to time.
The unstuffy and relaxed atmosphere in The Crynoch restaurant tends to make our diners feel perfectly comfortable and at home ... and a little bold at times. Some of our more exuberant customers have been known to adorn themselves in parts of the decor (our Viking helmet to be precise), some American visitors wanted to buy our entire and extensive cheese board and we have had numerous over-emotional young ladies who have discovered engagement rings in their desserts. There’s just something about the place.
We’re not sure if it’s the eclectic mix of antiquities and curios from hunting tapestries and horse harnesses to that strangely alluring Viking helmet or the pianist who tinkles the ivories most evenings or the wine list boasting more than 40 fine wines and champagnes. Is it maybe the Gallery, a coveted spot for coffee and liqueurs after dinner with its cosy couches and soft lights which seem to make it extremely difficult for diners to leave after an exquisite evening’s dining? Or perhaps it’s because when you book at The Crynoch the table is yours for the entire evening (we never double book unlike many restaurants) which means you get to know us a little better and we get to know you a little better.
Needless to say, like the Inn, The Crynoch chefs use only the freshest of seasonal produce and the dishes are prepared with a flair and imagination which has caught the attention of many a good food guide.
